Social Security Disability Law

"The care of human life and happiness, and not their destruction, is the first and only object of good government"
- Thomas Jefferson
San Francisco Disability Attorney

The Law Office of Dolly M. Trompeter is dedicated to the practice of Social Security Disability Law (SSI/SSDI) in order to ensure the promise of good government, the care of human life and happiness, for those suffering from disabilities.

I have been working in Social Security Disability Law since 2001. I was an attorney for the Social Security Administration (SSA) for three years, and now I use that inside knowledge to fight against SSA on behalf of disabled people.

While working at SSA, I was frustrated by what I saw day after day: Good people with strong Disability claims who were consistently denied for lack of a knowledgeable attorney who understood the intricacies of Social Security Disability Law. So I switched sides, so to speak, and I am very happy I did.

Passionate Dedication to Your Case

In my practice, I work closely with my clients to inform them about the process, gather medical records and complete the necessary SSA forms, forms and more forms…. The Social Security Administration requires a claimant complete numerous, complicated forms in order to file an Appeal. I make it a priority to provide, explain and review these forms with my clients before submission to SSA. Most cases are won at the Administrative Law Judge Hearing level of appeal. When cases reach this stage, I work intensely to further develop the record; research, write and submit a legal brief; and thoroughly prepare my clients regarding the hearing process, procedure and testimony.

The best thing about my work is that I am able to help people from all walks of life because disability does not discriminate. I have clients of various ages, races, nationalities, sexual orientations, and socio-economic levels, all of whom have had their SSI/SSDI claims denied at the Initial, Reconsideration, Administrative Law Judge or Appeals Council levels. For example, I have successfully won SSI/SSDI awards for a victim of Hurricane Katrina; former highly accomplished attorneys; transgender, gay and lesbian individuals; disabled children; U.S. military veterans; non-English speaking citizens and homeless people.

People often ask me why I left my cushy government job. The answer is simple: “The care of human life and happiness, the object of good government,” was neglected and in need of an Advocate.

In other words, I left the System-To make the System-Work for You.
